To meet these requirements – ZON Engineering Inc. (ZEI) has developed a comprehensive and systematic approach to assist our clients in achieving technically excellent projects that meet the needs of the end-user.
During concept design, our professionals will lead the project design team through an integrated design process (IDP) that actively engages all key stakeholders to share ideas, discuss options, and most importantly, to make the right design decisions as early as possible in terms of the technological implementation strategy. ZON utilizes the knowledge and experience exhibited by its engineering staff to ensure past design and commission concerns are not repeated. With procedures for both being further improved upon in the process.
ZON Engineering Inc. conducts regular bi-weekly meetings internally that all staff are required to attend. During these meetings, each project is reviewed in detail with respect to project development, schedule, budget and scope; if necessary, additional staff are assigned to the project to ensure project deliverables are completed on-time and within budget.
The design process involves the evaluation of a wide-range of technologies and systems, and providing the decision makers with key information on the viability of the proposed technologies. This allows for a better opportunity to achieve higher levels of efficiency and durability, while minimizing capital costs. During the detailed design, construction, and commissioning phases of the projects, our initial concept design work is supported by intensive field reviews and onsite verification.
Our quality assurance process ensures that the owner’s intent established at the outset of the projects is addressed throughout the design, construction and certification process. To assist with ensuring client satisfaction is maintained throughout the project, we work closely with our clients throughout the entire project, responding to their needs and requirements to ensure that the deliverables provided meet and exceed their expectations.
All documents – i.e., reports, recommendations, design reviews and documentation are subject to internal peer review prior to being formally issued. A number of internal iterations are completed prior to final document submission, all of which address a wide range of design parameters from both an engineering and formatting aspect. This ensures that the issued documents meet the high level of quality that our clients have come to expect from the services we provide.
A wealth of experience is available to the contractor during the shop drawing and field reviews of the project to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot any potential issue that would not have been evident during the design review stage.
All solar photovoltaic commissioning is performed by qualified electrical technicians, all of which possess extensive knowledge of renewable energy systems and commissioning procedures. These procedures have been extensively reviewed both internally and externally for optimum conformance to TRD standards and industry safety standards. All on-site measurement results are peer reviewed for conformance and aid in the troubleshooting of any perceived performance or installation issue prior to final commissioning report compilation.
For Infrared Thermography (IR) Testing, ZON Engineering Inc. has both Level I and II Certified Thermographers on staff that have completed the necessary training through the Infrared Training Centre (ITC) in Burlington, ON. ITC is an ISO-9001 registered company and is accredited in IR thermography training by the International Electrical Testing Association (NETA).
