PROPONENTS OF BUILDING RENEWABLES AND RENEWABLE BUILDINGS

HEALTH AND SAFETY

ZON Engineering Inc is committed to providing a safe workplace for all of its workers including employees and contractors. We recognize that all workers have the right to work in a safe and healthy environment, consistent with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Regulations for Construction Projects and any other applicable legislation.

In fulfilling this commitment to protect both people and property, management will provide and maintain a safe and healthy work environment, in accordance with industry standards, and will strive to eliminate any foreseeable hazards which may result in property damage, accidents, or personal injury/illness.

Due to the nature of our workplace and worker presence on third-party managed construction sites. We recognize that the responsibility for health and safety are shared. All employees will be responsible for minimizing accidents within the context of their workplace. For sites managed by other companies, employees will be responsible for ensuring they comply with the constructor’s health and safety polices.

Our company is committed to take every reasonable effort to eliminate the hazards that cause accidents and injuries.

WORKPLACE HARASSMENT POLICY

The management of ZON Engineering Inc. is committed to the prevention of workplace violence and is ultimately responsible for worker health and safety. We will take whatever steps are reasonable to protect our workers from workplace violence from all sources

Violent behavior in the workplace is unacceptable from anyone. This policy applies to both in office activities and field activities (where not governed by constructor policies).  All employees, contractors, consultants, and others engaged in activities at Zon shall comply with this policy. Everyone is expected to uphold this policy and to work together to prevent workplace violence.

“workplace sexual harassment” means,

(a) engaging in a course of vexatious comment or conduct against a worker in a workplace because of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, where the course of comment or conduct is known or ought reasonably to be known to be unwelcome, or

(b) making a sexual solicitation or advance where the person making the solicitation or advance is in a position to confer, grant or deny a benefit or advancement to the worker and the person knows or ought reasonably to know that the solicitation or advance is unwelcome;

ZON Engineering Inc., as the employer, will ensure this policy and the supporting program are implemented and maintained and that all workers and supervisors have the appropriate information and instruction to protect them from violence in the workplace and a means of summoning immediate assistance and a process for workers to report incidents, or raise concerns.  No penalty will come from reporting an incident of workplace harassment and investigation will occur is such an incident is reported.
